How to read the model number
Open Settings → General → About and tap Model Number once. It switches between two formats.
The first shows something like MQ8V3HN/A. The letters before the slash are the region code. The second, starting with A followed by four digits, identifies the hardware variant and tells you which cellular bands the device supports.

The US eSIM-only problem
From the iPhone 14 generation onward, Apple removed the SIM tray entirely from American models. There is no slot. Nothing to open.
