Transparency uses the microphones to pipe outside sound in, so you can hear traffic, announcements or someone talking to you without removing an earbud. On Indian roads that is a genuine safety feature, not a convenience. It is only on the Pro models.
What to check when buying renewed earbuds
Earbuds are different from phones, and there are things worth knowing.
Battery is the wear item, and it is not user-replaceable. Earbud batteries are tiny and degrade with cycles. This is the single most important thing about buying pre-owned audio — a set with worn batteries might last an hour instead of four or five.
Check both buds and the case charge. Three separate batteries are involved. All three need to work.
