The iPhone XR caveat you should know
The iPhone XR is cheap and it works well. But it was dropped from iOS 26, which means iOS 18 is its final major version — no iOS 27, and no major updates ever again.
It will keep receiving security patches for a period and everyday apps will run for a while yet. But over the next two to three years, apps will progressively raise their minimum iOS requirement and stop updating on it.
